Kenya (Robinson)’s practice investigates the nexus of capitalism, gender, race, and beauty through performative action and sculptural gesture. Realizing art at both the monolithic and human scales, she elegantly utilizes absurtidy, double-speak, and camp in the Black American comedic tradtion as a primary gestural means of parsing this relationship.
